<html>whole, twas too deep for the pub-
lic generally. He had very
interesting services [that?] [day?] I
wish you could have heard Fath-
ers sermon in the morning the
tribute to Gen Lee was beautiful
Father sat up the entire night
preparing that sermon twas a
real effort for him to do it too
for he has been really sick
during the past two weeks, more
unwell than any time since his re-
turn home. Helen may go home
very soon her Father wrote to
day telling her to be in readiness
to return with him when he came
but did not say just when, but
quite soon, I suppose. what will
become of poor [underscored] little Bessie
then. Mrs Hough is still here, had
a very pleasant visit [?], &
a Mr. Dickinson has paid me
two long [underscored] visits. G. goes to Balt. in
about ten days days. Mrs. H sends much
love, she looks very well, now aint
Bessie good to write two letter
