THE WILLIAM AND MARY CHOIR ALUMNI LETTER

College of William and Mary

Williamsburg, Virginia 23185

Dear Choir Alum:

In case you have been wondering why you have not heard anything from us recently concerning the 1973 W&M Choir Alumni Reunion, it was because I was awaiting an important decision.

When Pappy indicated that he was retiring, it brought a flood of responses from his friends, students, Choir alumni and a few College officials asking him to reconsider. You and I know why.... the W&M Choir has become a "Living Legend in pappy's Time" - or should I say because of Pappy's time! Many of us would not like to see this tremendous organization come to an end so abruptly. So, as a result, the Board of Visitors, who convened recently, has retained pappy for the academic year 1973-74.

Pappy called me to let me know that he was delighted and does not want to let down those who are interested in his continuing for a little longer at the College. Hence, he will continue his work at the College until July 1, 1974. I know that you are pleased with this decision and happy to know that we will have a "Fehr" Choir for a little longer.

To those of you who liked the idea of a W&M Choir Reunion, take heart! We will keep our present plans and just postpone, the occassion to coincide with Pappy's retirement in the Spring of 1974.

We will keep you posted, but if you have a chance, come to see us in Williamsburg or hear the W&M Choir when it is on tour.

Sincerely,

"Aggie" Vassos [handwritten]

"Aggie" Vassos, '56 President W&M Choir

Coordinator of the Choir Reunion
