Nannie C. Waller was Ann W. C. Waller who married Charles C. P. Waller. According to Ancestry, she was born in Gloucester County, Va. and was married to Charles C. P. Waller. She died in Alexandria, Va., the widow of Charles C. P. Waller and was buried in St. Paul's Cemetery. In 1870, she was keeping a boarding house in Williamsburg and appears to have been a widow at that time. Subjects include College of William and Mary, female seminaries in Williamsburg, Gold Rush, Bruton Parish Church, Williamsburg Methodist Church, religion, and cholera epidemic.

The journal was not scanned at optimal resolution. If the actual journal is viewed and compared with the transcription, many of the transcription questions can probably be cleared up. Also it is very difficult to distinguish where commas, periods and capital letters were intended. And she does not divide words at the end of sentences into the proper syllables.
