Dear Dr. Fehr - "Pappy",

I am so very late in doing this, but I want to respond to your lovely letter of last spring. It has been on my mind to write you all this time. On top of a busy schedule of teaching and householdery, selling our last summer and moving in October just compounded things for me. I wanted to get this off to you before we meet again, but I've just noticed on my calendar that you leave on tour on Monday, so it will be waiting when you return.

I can't tell you how much singing for you has meant to Virginia. She has benefited so much from her association with you and I know that as she looks back in the years to come, to her college days, it will be you and your choir that stand out most and have the loveliest memories for her.
