reached the hospital - Dr. Han-
cock was there - who kindly waited 
to bring us back.  It made me sick - 
& I have been laid by ever since. 
The soldiers did enjoy the peaches.  We 
say Massie - & were so surprised to hear 
of their failure to get in f rom Baltimore. 
He was not near so well from fatigue. 
Mr. [McGraham?] went to Petersburg, & was 
no worse, as far as City Point - Mrs. 
Starr said she would move in to-day. 
I enclose you Lilly's letter received 
last Saturday - send it back in your 
next letter - as I would like to send 
it to Lucy - poor child she is so lone-
some.  She wrote her Uncle Moses 
a very sweet letter & he wrote her 
a good long one that would do her good. 
Tell Mary Mrs Green moves away 
his month.  We are sorry to lose here. 
Mrs [Lechey?] came to take Mrs Hoge 
to Ashland to-day - but she did 
not want to go - & made very sick.
