NOVEMBER 24
The morning was spent in baking toll
house cookies in the same domesticated vein,
until past lunch time when Mother and I
drove over to the Hettler’s for an impromptu
social call. Mr. Rhatigan spent the
afternoon with Dad and afterwards we
drove him home to [Mathasset?] ---- each
time I went out I missed a call
from Jim, but he finally called when
I was home for another gay-ish
chat.
He called for me a little after
eight and after talking with the
family we went down to the Hillside
to see “The Fighting Guardsman,” with
Willard Parker, a Richmond Hill lad
who made good. It was a foolish
film but we had a grand time.
After the show, we came home and
drank coffee and munched sandwiches.
We had such fun! He’s mighty nice!
