SEPTEMBER 24

Back to work as I heaved a

sigh of relief when I discovered the

elevator strike which has tied up

N.Y. doesn’t effect Rockefeller Center,

which has a separate contract with

the union  I’d dreaded the mere

fantasy of climbing 49 flights.

Expecting the worst, I took my

lunch and ate it in the office

Kitchen --- then went downstairs and

sent fudge to the KDs.

Went to the hospital to find

Dr. McKenna, the ultimate specialist

hasn’t come yet --- Dad’s left up in

the air another day.

A letter from Floyd, and two

terrific ones from Bill.  I doubt if

he’ll be home before mid winter, but

he’s writing mighty good letters in

the meantime --- is really seeing

Paris too!
