AUGUST 24

     A stay-at-home morning waiting

until Stewart Brown called making an

appointment for Monday at 10:00.  I’m

hopeful! – Then Miss Corwin phoned

this afternoon after we’d gone out; so

p’rhaps I won’t be forever more an

unemployed.

This afternoon Mother and I went

down to Loew’s Met. to see “A Gay

Senorita” and parts of Greer Garson and

Gregory Peck in “Valley of Decision.”  It

was wonderful and we hated to leave

but twas hospital time and we did.

Dad’s leg seems no better – it’s so

discouraging!

A real sweet letter from Mrs. Boyd

who hasn’t heard from Bill since

July 28th. – and an awfully nice

one from Armour Weir.
