December 22

Home at last at 7:30 this

morning – Mother and Lizzie

met us. After griddlecakes in

the Savarin we picked up my

bag, dropped off Cary and came

on home, where I blissfully

crawled into bed and took up

a spoiled brat existence. – with

lunch in bed – opening all

my purty Christmas cards

– reading magazines and sleeping.

     This evening I felt smooth.

Mother drove me down to D&G

where I went to their Christmas

cocktail party and had a

lovely time – drank wee cups

of Cuba Libre and munched on

sandwiches – Most of the men

danced with me and I felt

smooth, as of the PreWar Party

days. Life can be beautiful!
