Wind SW Clear Ploughing Wests’ Corn. Weeding Corn.
Mr J Sinclair & Mr Curtis here. Sister Ann & Martha went
to Wilsons Creek in Evg.

Tuesday 16
Wind SE Clear Working Corn. Maj Sinclair
got home from Fort Norfolk where is has been kept a
prisoner for four or five weeks. Richard very unwell

Wednesday 17
Wind SW clear. Working Corn. It is very dry
vegitation parching in Fields and Gardens.

Thursday 18
Wind SW Clear till Evg. Then a Thunder cloud but
no rain here. Mary Booth here.

Friday 19
Wind SW Rained in Mg. Clear in Evg. Working Corn.

Saturday 20
Wind E Cloudy. Working Corn.

Sunday 21
Wind E cloudy. Rained in Evg and nearly all night
We staid at home. Genl Ewell has taken Winchester & all
the forces and every thing there except Milroy & 600 cavalry who
escaped to Harper’s Ferry.
