Sunday 10 Wind SW Clear and warm. We staid at home.

Monday 11 Wind SW mg SWE Evg Clear & warm. Jushua ploughing Sold Fifteen head of Cattle to John H Tabb for $600

Tuesday 12 Wind SW Clear & warm. Began to plant some Corn The Battle around Fredericksburg were the bloodiest of the War. We gained a great victory but at a sad loss in the death of Stonewall Jackson and the loss in killed & wounded of 8 or 10 Thousand. The loss of the Enemy was by their own statement between 25 and 30 Thousand & Hooker is driven across the Rappahannock.

Wednesday 13 Wind SW clear and very warm. Planting Corn No mail today and we have not had one for a fortneight. It is really provoking in these times to be so left in the dark.
