The Battle around Fredericksburg were the bloodiest of the
War. We gained a great victory but at a sad loss in the
death of Stonewall Jackson and the loss in killed & wounded
of 8 or 10 Thousand. The loss of the Enemy was by their own
statement between 25 and 30 Thousand & Hooker is driven
across the Rappahannock.
