Thursday 2nd 
Wind SW Clear. Finished cutting tops. 
Sady Washington was buried to,day at Mr. Bryan's 
Maria went to Belletown to see Farley and inform her 
Col Taylor being wounded. I expect to go to Richmond in the 
morning with Farley.  We do not know where Colo Taylor is but 
will of course hear there. 

Friday 3
Wind SW Clear Hauling in  & stacking Top Fodder 
I started for Richmond to,day with poor Farley 
Taylor who is going to try to join her wounded 
Husband [led?] F S Taylor who we suppose to be in 
Winchester.  She leaves all her children with Maria 
except Fielding who goes with her

Wednesday 8th 
Wind SE Clear.  We returned from Richmond to,day
We were met there by a "Telegraphic dispatch" when we got 
there Saturday Ev.g. stating that poor Col Taylor died the 
day before (Friday) in Winchester. We had to remain 
here till Tuesday morning when we started home via 
Yok River Rail Road & West Point.  Mr. WP Smith kindly offered 
his carriage which was at Dudley's Ferry & brought us to  Gloster CH 
where my carriage met us & brought us here.
