Saturday 23

Wind W Alternately Clear & cloudy. I gave the hands holidays
I went to the Ct house in mg and to Capt Glass’s in Evg.
There are said to be two Regiments of Infantry at Gloster Point
and some Cavalry. They have not from the best I can learn
committed any depridations yet, but paid for what they got
They arrested George Camp & [Cluverins?] but they had been in
the Confederate Army as Officers. They however soon released them.
they took young Bray’s horse of the Gloucester Cavalry which
was at his Father’s

Sunday 24

Wind NE Cloudy & rained a little, quite cool
We staid at home.

Monday 25

Wind NE, Cloudy in M.g.Clear Ev.g. Cleaning out ditch
to drain Barn Yard. Hauling out & scattering Farm Pen
Manure. I went to the Ct house. Nothing new. The Mail
did not come Saturday, Nor has ti come since.

Tuesday 26

Wind S Clear. Hauling out & scattering Farm Pen
manure cleaning out ditches.
Maria & the children went to Dr Carys & from thence
to Wilson’s Creek where she spent the day. She brought
a letter and some Papers for me form Warner. Nothing new.
