Wednesday 13th

Wind NE & N. Clear & pleasant. Broke up & inclosed
Turnip Patch, Worked Peas & Sweet Potatoes
Tom B Taliaferio came here & we went to Capt Marshall’s
They have not returned from the Eastern Shore with good yet.
The fight was at Orange Ct house. We drove the Enemy into
Culpepper & Captured 3 or 4 hundred prisoners, a Genl Prince &
Twenty Nine other Officers amongst them.

Thursday 14

Wind SE Clear. Began to Thresh Wheat. Threshed 51 Bu
and a load or two of Oats. Mrs Perrin and Emily Kemp
spent the day here.

Friday 15

Wind NE Cloudy & cool. Threshed out the balance of
White Wheat 64 1/2 Bushels which with 51 Threshed yesterday
makes 115 1/2 which is all from 65 sowed. Great Farming !!!
Maria went to Belle Farm. She heard that Farley & her
Baby were both sick – they are much better.

Saturday 16

Wind N Clear & cool. Threshed out Mediterranean Wheat
25 Bushels & 107 Bushels Oats. Maria spent the day at
Wilsons Creek. Mr Curtis has gone to Richmond with 75 Head
of Beef Cattle which he bought in the County.
