Dr Page here. Carter still sick. I am very unwell.

Saturday 2
Wind S&SE Clear & mild. Ploughing Three Ploughs
Getting wood. Scattering Marl. I went to Co Ho.

Sunday 3
Wind SE Clear & warm. We staid at home.
I hope I am recovering from the Rheumatism –
Carter is better as abscess broke yesterday which relieved
his cough & respiration very much

Monday 4
Wind W Cloudy mg. Clear Mdn. Cloudy in Evening
Ploughing Two Ploughs. Hauling out Winter Hog Pen
Manure. Scattering Marl. I went to Ct house
& carried Ralph Rowe. Lincoln a [Black Republican][underlined]
was I suppose inaugurated President Today
Alas for my country –

Wind NW. Clear & cool. Ploughing three Ploughs
Hauling our & scattering Manure.

Wednesday 6
Wind NW Clear & cool. Ploughing three Ploughs
Cutting down & hauling Corn Stalks from Oat land
