Sunday 5th Wind NE Cloudy & looks as if it would snow [very cold][underlined] freezing all day. We staid at home. The baby quite unwell Warner came in Ev.g.

Monday 6 Wind NW Cloudy & very cold. The whole Earth’s surface is covered with Sleet. Mauled Rails. Cut Wood & Hauled it in wagon. The oxen could not travel. I went to the C.H. Hired Manuel to Overton Kemp for $125 & Hired Jena & her Two children to PH Fitzhugh for their victuals & clothes. Warner started for Richmond The Legislature reassembles Tomorrow.

Tuesday 7 Wind NW Clear & cold Every thing still sleeted over Got Wood. Raked Woods litter Mauled Rails. Dr Page & his wife here in morning.

Wagon to carry Jena ^ to PH Fitzhugh’s to whom I hired them Raked & hauled Woods litter to Farm Pen forenoon. Got Wood afternoon. Davy & Nick mauled Rails. Maria & the children went to Wilson’s Creek & Richd & Charley went from there with their Grand Father to Gloster Point.

Sunday 12 Wind SW Clear & mild. We staid at home Mr Curtis here To dinner. We found out that Landon Davies whom he brought up from Gloster Point in is carriage yesterday sick, had the Measels & wished to carry Richd & Charley to Wilson’s Creek for fear they may have taken it.

Monday 13 Wind NE Cloudy & cold Rained a little, I think it will snow. Mauled Rails. Ploughing Two Ploughs. Raked & hauled Woods litter. One of my best Oxen got his neck broken by Turning in the Yoke. Fleeta had 8 puppies.
