freezing all day. We staid at home. The baby quite unwell

Monday 6
Wind NW Cloudy & very cold. The whole Earth’s surface
is covered with Sleet. Mauled Rails. Cut Wood & Hauled
it in wagon. The oxen could not travel. I went to
the C.H. Hired Manuel to Overton Kemp for $125
& Hired Jena & her Two children to PH Fitzhugh for
their victuals & clothes. Warner started for Richmond
The Legislature reassembles Tomorrow.

Tuesday 7
Wind NW Clear & cold Every thing still sleeted over
Got Wood. Raked Woods litter Mauled Rails.
Dr Page & his wife here in morning.

Wednesday 8
Wind SW in mg Clear E in Evg Cloudy. Mauled Rails
Raked & hauled woods litter. Killed a Beef. Sent 3
Quarters to Gloster Point. Hung first Bacon killed up
to smoke 64 Hams 63 Shoulders & 64 Midlings.
Hired Polly & child to Mrs Moore for $25.

Thursday 9
Wind SW Cloudy and rained in m.g. Mauled Rails. Cut Wood
Raked & hauled Wood’s litter. Ploughing Two Ploughs.
