Wind W Clear & blustering. Got Wood.
Raked wood’s litter. Got Pine bushes to cover up
Fig Bushes and other things in the garden that require
protection. I went to Hickory Fork to a hiring
Hired out Tom to Mr Bryan for $80. Philis to Mr Walt
Seawell for $30. Lucy to MB Seawell for $35 and
Ginty to Mr Robins for $25.

Tuesday 2
wind NW Cloudy in m.g. Clear in Ev.g. Cold.
Raked & hauled Woods litter to Farm Pen. Ploughing
Two Ploughs. Younger making Bars, Repairing Water
fences. Sister Harriet & her children & Bet dined
here to,day.

Friday 3
Wind N & NW Cloudy Snowed & rained a little after dark
Raked & hauled woods litter. Ploughing One Plough. Sent
Wagon to Mill. Got the weeks allowance sent a week since.
Mauled Rails. Got Wood. Made a Shelter for Pigs

Sunday 4
Wind NE Cloudy & cold. Snowed a little & sleet. Got Wood
Mauled Rails. Raked woods litter & hauled it to Farm Pen.
Younger repaired Lucy’s house. I went to Gloster Point.
A large Fleet is reported in Hampton Roads & they think it
may probably attack York Town.
