Monday 2[4][written over]5th Wind NW Clear & cold. Cutting down & hauling Stalks to Farm Pen. Hauled Slabs Plates &c to the [guards?] home. Building the Guard’s house. Got Wood. Jefferson & Fayette Sinclair are at their Father’s

Tuesday 2[5][overwritten]6 Wind NW Clear. Cutting down Corn Stalks. Raking & hauling Wood’s litter to hog & Cattle Pens.

Wednesday 2[6][overwritten]7 Wind E Clear & cloudy alternately. Cutting down & hauling Stalks. Sent to Saw Mill for Plank & could not get it. Got some Stocks to saw some. I went to Adams’s Tanery where I bought 18 lbs sole Leather at 60c per lb.

Thursday 2[7][written over]8 Wind SE Clear. Took up & put away Turnips in Mounds and in the barn. John & Younger sawing. Shelled Corn. Fayette Sinclair here in mg. he & I went Partridge shooting Dr Byrd & Mr Curtis dined here. Warner went to the C.H. Our little Baby is quite unwell, I thing she is teething.

Friday 2 [8][overwritten]9 Wind S. alternately Clear & cloudy. Making Winter Farm Pen & Shelters for Cattle, & Hauling Stalks to it - John & Younger sawing. Landon Davies dined here.

Saturday 30 Wind NW Clear & cold. Rained last night. Got Wood. Raked litter John & Younger Sawing. Warner started where he goes on the legislature it meets Monday. Maria & the children spent the day at Mr Davies’s

Sunday 1st. Wind SW Cloudy. We staid at home. Major Goggin at Sister Anne’s. I was there in Ev.g.

Monday 2 Wind NE. Alternately Cloudy & clear. Getting wood preparatory to killing hogs. Sawing Planks. Raking woods litter & sea Ore. I went to the C.H. Capt Glass told me there the Yankees had put [“Boueys”][underlined] off the Mouth of Severn River. Willie Perrin took the only one away which was there and which proved to be a part of a wreak of a Vessel which had grounded at the Mouth of the River Bar in about 14 feet water

Tuesday 3 Wind North & [very cold][underlined]. Killed 35 Hogs.

Wednesday 4 Wind NW Clear & cold. Cut out & salted Pork. Raked woods litter. Exchanged a Sow with Pig with Templeman for a small hog w.g 84.

Thursday 5 Wind W Clear. Hauling Stalks to Farm Pen & Ricking them. Sawing Plank. Making Cattle Shelters. I went to Wareham to see Mr Bushong about getting Quarters for my Negros, in case I should be invaded by the Yankees.
