Sunday 27th
Wind W Cloudy in M.g Clear in Ev.g It rained
nearly all last night. Maria & Charley went
to church, Myself & the others staid at home.

Monday 28
Wind NW Clear & cool. Sowed Eight Bushels of Wheat
Sister Harriet, Hally & Fanny here. Shucked &
put away Corn

Tuesday 29
Wind NW & W Clear. Sowed Eleven bushels Wheat
Shucked & put away Corn. Opened drains
Warner went to York To,day to join Genl Rains
as a member of his staff.
Deal’s Canoe was taken off last night by some
Negroes who went to the Yankees. Three went from Mr
Clarkes. I have not heard what other went.

Wednesday 30th
Wind W & SW Clear & beautiful weather. Sowed
Eleven bushels Wheat. Mr Hoggs & SL men
stationed to day at Whitaker’s Creek to guard boats.
Sister Ann & Bet spend the day here.

Thursday 31
Wind E Clear. Sowed Eight bushels Wheat. Cut down
and hauled off Corn Stalks. Sowed up to this time 61/2
Bushels Wheat. Deals boat and the negroes are said to be taken
on the Eastern Shore.
