My dear Vir

Mr Campbell's John is here and going
down this morning, I write to let you know that
we received a letter from Edward yesterday evening,
he is in, or, near Richmond at this time, but expects
to remain there only long enough to finish fixing
up Capt Vaughn's papers. then he says he will join
his brother Robert's company again, which I am
grateful to hear, your Aunt Mary expects to go up
sometime this week, we are all as well as usual.

My Haywood came up with M Macon Friday
she is quite sick, been in bed iver since she came
up. John has left this note but I will send it
after him, my love to John

from your affectionate
mother
E Bagby
