State of North Carolina} This the 28 day of New Hanover County } October 1863

personally appeared before me the subscriber, A Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid Ada J. Richardson who after being sworn according to law deposed and says that she is the Wife of W. W. Richardson deceases who was a Private in Capt Williamses Company in the third Regiment of North Carolina State Troops commanded by Colonel Gaston Mears in the service of the Confederate States in the present war with United States that the said W.W. Richardson entered the service at Stafford county and State of Virginia on or about the 10th of February 1862 and was Killed at Malvern hill about the 2nd day of July 1862 having a wife Ada J. Richardson that makes the deposition for the purpose of obtaining from R. T. Williams Administrator of Capt David Williams Dcd the sum of fifty Dollars which the said David Williams had in his hands belonging to the said W. W. Richardson at the time of the death of said Richardson.

and on the same day and year aforesaid also appeared before me a Justice of the Peace as aforesaid Mary Richardson who is well known to me and whom I here by certify to be a person of verracity and credulity who having bin by me duly sworn says on oath that she is well acquainted with Ada J. Richardson the claimant and also well new for thirty years W.W. Richardson the deceased soldier herin mentioned and that the statement made under oath by said Ada J. Richardson the claimant as to her relationship to the said deceased soldier is true and correct in every particular. To the best of her knowledge and belief and that the said Mary Richardson is wholy disinterested

I hereby certify that the gentleman before whom the forgoing affidavits of Ada J. Richardson & Mary Richardson appear to have been made and whose general signature is subscribed thereto was a t the time making and signing the same; a Justice of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid. Duly commissioned and sworn and to all whose official acts as such, full faith and credit is and ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout. In witness whereof I have hereunto
