Dear Brother

I now seat myself to answer your letter of Nov. 18th which came to hand in due time. And was glad to hear from you all. This leave us all well at present, but all of the children have had the measles, but me, and have nearly gotten over it, and if I dont have it this Week I dont expect to have it at all.

I have no new of any importance to write except Miss Annie Houre is married at last and I reckon you have heard of that long, before this, married Mr [Drumwright?] and he gone back in the army a ready and left her behind but she said she had rather die a widow than an Old

and Lark likeness^ I think they are very good likeness’s, and some of the girls says your are just like a girl, but it has not received a single kiss yet Tell Lark Ma say she will send his shirts down to Harvey next Sunday to carry down to him. Tell Lark I think it time that he was answering my letter I sent him.

Miss Marther was up here Saturday and dont you wish you had been here to have seen her, she look just as sweet as ever. Your portion of love, that you sent to your sweetheart I did not know who to divide it amongst, so you will have to write to me word who they are before I can divide.

Tell Charles that i saw Miss Jennie last night and she look just as pretty as ever, and expect a line or tow from

him soon, Tell him she has heard about his writing her name all over the wall of Fort Drewry.

Boy say’s he has had the measles and now he is a finally man. Sweet think as much about the ladies as ever but his horse grows very slow, but he dont mind that, he takes it a foot he walk over last night and set until bedtime with the ladies.

Pa says tell Mr Saunders & Fling that he could not get ^ their shoes made at Lawrenceville this side of christmas. Ma says she is going to send a box down to Harvey to carry down to you and Lark if he will carry it next Sunday and says you and Lark must come out to Belfield with Harvey. Sarah Pa and Sweet are going down next Sunday and Sweet says if you and Lark want to go out to Weldon to come

out to Belfield and he will take you all out to Weldon on a pleasure trip. Ma send her love to you Lark and all the rest.

All of the Children sends their love to you and lark. Give my love to all and receive a portion for yourself. Answer this assoon as you get [it – crossed out] and write me all of the news. Noting more at present.
