Letter to Comrade Dickety

Exhibit D.

Oct 10th, 1905

Hon Joseph M Dickey,

Railroad Commissioner,

Albany, N.Y.

Dear Sir, and Comrade:

We have this day written to the State Comptroller, in regard to the money appropriated for the Monument on Bull Run Cattlefield. We have occasion to use some of the amount on the 20th inst, or the succeeding day.

We would like to draw the whole amount in bulk (as Gen'l Sickles's commission does) and can furnish Bonds if it is so given to us, for its proper expenditure.

Can you facilitate this business for us in any way? Will you kindly call on the Comptroller and State Treasurer as one of our Association members, and say a good word &c to help us in that matter.

With much respect,

I am yours truly,

James W Welt,

Chairman of Commission.
