I breathed a song into the air; It fell to earth, I know not where; For who has sight so keen and strong. That it can follow flight of song? -Longfellow

Dear Pappy, How can I tell you how much you and the chorus have mean to me this year? Every time I try to think of a way to put it, it comes out wrong. Suffice it to say that without those Tuesday and Thursday rehearsals, those times when, no matter how depressed I was, the singing and your good humor would have me leaving happier than I was before, I don't know how I would have coped with this year. I only wish I were a senior and could have had four years of your directorship instead of just one. Thank you for a wonderful year, and may the ones ahead be filled with nothing but joy and happiness for you. Love, Diana Powell
