My Dear Father

I was very sorry to hear that they had taken John away at the present time as I will know it will be difficult for you to get along with your work. But the Burns tribe are kin to the Devil & can never be satisfied. I hope you may be able to get along with the harvest & I will send enclosed in this a $10 note which may help you a little. I have not much to write & not much time to write in & so I will close hoping this may find you enjoying good health. My love to mother & all of of the rest of the family.
