Description - Sally M. Galt requests that the Federals protect and kindly treat Mr. Aleck Preston

       I earnestly prayerfully

entreat that the person of Mr. Aleck Preston may be protected & kindly treated by the Federals, for I know they know how to do a kind action. He is seventy three years of age & has lived for three generations in my family & given to them & received from them the deepest love & affection, & the bitterest anguish tortures my heart, at parting with him & his wife.

Not a more honest & be

nevolent being here, on earth & there is nothing I would not give to him to make his old age comfortable. My [Philanther?] brother Dr. Galt spent hundreds almost thousands of dollars [?]

to save this good old man's fa- mily from distress & counted it as nothing compared with the love he had for him.

         I again prayerfully commend

him to the kind care of the Fede- rals & can't but think, heaven will grant my prayers.

             Sally Maria Galt
