Dr. Carl Fehr, Professor Department of Music College of William and Mary Williamsburg, Virginia

Dear "Pappy":

Twice this year I have heard the William and Mary Choir perform, at Interest Night and Opening Convocations, and, as usual, the per- formances were distinguished by a certain excellence which has come to be your trademark.

I was most impressed by the way the group conducted itself at interest Night. With a confident air that belied the short rehearsal time available for the performance, the William and Mary Choir triumphed masterfully over an audience that was initially less than polite. if ever any audience was "won over", that one surely was and rightly so for the Choir's showmanship was magnificent.

On both occasions the diction of the Choir was superb and the balance very nice, partiularly so for a group that has just undergone per- sonnel changes. Most pleasant of all though was the fact that the members of the Choir obviously enjoy singing and their enthusiasm is quite contagious.

Congratulations on the start of your twenty-third year. From what I have heard so far, it promises to be another memorable one for those of us in the College community.

Sincerely yours, Sam (script) W.S. Sadler Assistant Dean of Admissions
