(Copy) Richmond Sept 16th 1802 A report agreable to the within instructions. I found the Corner Trees of Two of the surveys agreable to the Patents in No 1 & No 2, and find that the Lands are not settled by any Person. nor could I find that the Lands, or any part thereof has ever been sold, nor offered for sale by Holt or his Sons. The Title of the lands I believe to be good & find the Surveys was regularly returned in the Surveyor's Office of the County of Monongalia - and find the lands to be of very inferior quality. I doubt whither it would sell for ten Cents (per) Acre. These two Tracts, (form) very near the Creek called the left hand for of Big Sandy, in the County of (Kenhawa) formerly the County of Monongalia. I was informed in Morgan town by a Mr Reedie, that these lands are mortgaged to a certain Wm. Coleman of James City, & that he was making arrangements to sell them. The Tract No 3 I could not find the lines, but have no doubt, but what I was on the lands. If so, I consider that to be valueable, the lands are strong & sufficiently level to afford convenient Farms with desirable water Courses. This trace, I think cannot (ly) as near Mill Creek as might be supposed from the Patent. If the lands No 3, by where I believe it does, I (suppose) it could be sold for about (page cut off at this point).
