Wmsburg in July 1862

My Beloved friends,

An opportunity is presented of sending a letter to Richmond by the way of Gloucester.

Oh! My dear friends pity my wretchedness. My darling Brother was as you know all the world to me, & life is dark & dreary with out him. I suppose you have heard of the death of Dr.Williamson, he told me he could not survive John & his words proved prophe tic, for he died on Sunday week. Cousin Mary is at her own home, but will I think, go to Richmond to live.

I am living at the old Home & would be so thankful to have some of you to live with me to mend a lonely wretched life.

Give my love to Mary Copeland. I often think of her.

I inclose $10. Please have the inclosed obituary mention in the Inquirer, or some other Richmond paper.

Farewell Sally Mana(?)Galt

Arena lives with me, - she & Mikle Ales take care of me. I have half of the house & Mrs. Sherwell a kind of lady sister to Mrs. Clara Southall lives in the other half.
