Camp Tennallytown D.C. February 21st 1862
Dear Brother Edmond,
Your kind letter was received by me yesterday and
having a few moments to spare I improve them
by writing to you. I am sorry to learn thrugh your
letter that Ma heart her self by falling and I
hope it is nothing cearious. If it is I want you to
telegraph to me and I will come home. I have nothing
new to write to you about onely I am in good health
as ever and I hope these few lines will find you
all the same. Tell Thomas I would write to
him indervigerly but as I write to some member
of the famerley I mean fer them all. The Union Army
is a gitting along a number one and if we do not meat
with eny more blunders I think this war will be
over in a very short time and I hope it is fer it
is no youse of the southern people carring it on
