Dear Ann
[?] to my latest report thro’ William (but as yet that is not later than 8 a.m. yesterday) all was going on extremely well with Walker. – W[illia]m told me yester= =day that the D[octo]r would probably at some time in the course of the day, remove the bandages for the first time, & he hurried back to Orange [NJ] so as to be pres= =ent on the occasion. It may be owing to fresh wants of divers ar= =ticles, or to the said removal having been postponed until today, that W[illia]m has not presented him =self yet, & he is unaware of my intention to write to you today via Quebec steamer.
