Butlers proclamation in reference to the New Orleans Ladies is denounced in the English parliament by Earl Russell and Lord Palmerston as being outrageous disgraceful & Infamous which brought down [cheers][underlined] from the “Houses”

Wind SE. Clear. Wm & Nick throwing first & James 2nd furrows to Corn. Weeding Corn. I went to Hickory Fork to get some medecine from Dr Cary for little Lizzy who is quite sick (teething). Heard there that Jackson with his army had reached Hanover

Wind SW Clear. Began Harvest. James and James Henry ploughing Maria & I went to Miss Adelaide Swann’s funeral at Warner Hall She died night before the last. Heard there of the death of George Cary of Typhoid fever in Richmond. He was a fine young man and is a loss to the Country. Little Lizzy quite sick.
