AUGUST 26
I got up early --- inspite of its
being the Sabbath -- to wash my hair
and dry it out in the sun – and
ended up with the sun behind the
clouds and me snuggled close to
the gas range in the kitchen. Then
after awhile Mother and I canned
six glasses of tomatoes – the
domestic touch!
We went down to the hospital --
and later [Lizzie?] joined us.
Dad was fine at first but
his spirits suddenly became
extremely depressed. How I
wish that I could really help
him!
