AUGUST 11

Awake at 7:00 A.M. to the crying

of Winnie and so started a wearyin’

but wonderful day. -- making beds,

doing dishes, helping cook, rough housing

dressing the children and on and on .

I feel almost qualified for the job

of a housewife and Mother --- I hope!

     We had dinner in Hackensack

at the Suburban and then drove

over to Hackensack Proper for shopping

-- and then stopped at Aunt Emma’s

before going home.  All was quiet there

till nine when we chased a fire

engine all over town.  Fun!

The Allies have made the Japs a

counter offer: - surrender according

to the Potsdam ultimatum provided

Hirohito is a puppet ruler..
