JULY 18
A Lovely day! Louise came out
this morning and Mother drove
us all down to Jones Beach for
the day. It’s so wonderful down
there and we fooled around on
the beach, gathering shells and
getting wet as we waded into
the ocean.
We came back, Kind o’ weary --
parted ways as Mother and I went
down to the hospital.
This evening I went up to Audrey’s
for her dinner given for the brides-
maids, and to spend the evening. She
gave us each a beautiful silver
pin – engraved with her married
initials. Jack came up later – they’re
so happy together.
Two letters from Bill written in
France on his way somewheres – I
pray home. How terrific that would be!
