JUNE 4
An anticlimactic day, spent in
leaving Billsburg at 6:00 A.M. and
driving home with Mother, Dad and
Lizzie – stopping for breakfast
in Richmond and lunch at
Howard Johnson’s outside of Baltimore.
The long drive, though not luxuriously
pleasant, was a treat in wartime.
We stopped at the St. George for
a sandwich – and then on out to
Brooklyn and Hollis. It seems so
odd to think of being back home for
keeps!
