JUNE 14
Lovely day - - - beginning with a
pleasant mail call: - a very interesting
letter from Bill full of a G.I’s idea
of the postwar world (well written), and
a letter from Jimmy announcing that he’s
home on a furlough, but lost my phone
number. When I called him, we had a
real long talk.
We went down to the hospital later on
in the morning – Ed [S...kin?] came and
then Ester.
I came home along about six --- had
a bite to eat and dressed. Jimmy
came out before seven and stayed
till midnight. He’s such a good guy!
We talked ‘n’ talked and laughed
most of the time: - stayed home
except for a short walk around the
town – drank rye & gingerale. Much
fun!
