We ate cider and doughnuts and danced afterwards.

Gosh, I had a neat time.

                        December 3, 1942

            This afternoon Midge and I saw “Forest

Rangers” with Fred MacMurray and Paulette Goddard.

It was a technicolor comedyish affair with excitement

in the for of forest fires.  Midge heard this

evening that Charlie, her Army Air Corps man

is coming home to Richmond for two weeks

furlough from Texas.  She’s so terrifically happy.

            Tonight the war directly affected Alpha

Pi chapter of Kappa Delta.  In the midst of our

solemn pledging ceremony, the airraid siren blew

and we had a blackout.  Such scurrying, as we

turned out lights and rigged up blackout shades.

Finally we picked up where we left off and

we finished it without further excitement.

                        December 4, 1942

            This afternoon I studied somewhat.

Bill came over to pick up his fountain pen

which he’d left here Wednesday evening.  I

got a letter from Bill Boyd.  He had a swell time
