                                 August 27, 1942

            I have a terrific cold and

Mother's been in bed all day.  Consequently,

I didn't go to the Day Nursery.

            I baked toll house cookies to

send Ed Damm and my cousin Bob.

I got super letters from both in addition

to one from Bill Boyd.

                                    August 28, 1942

            Mother and I went into New York

to Dr. Weiss' and had lunch at Schrafft's.

In the evening, we met Daddy and had a

bite to eat with him.  Of course, the

big important event came this evening:

Bill Brennan and Bill Boyd came up!

Bill Boyd had a three – day pass

and surprised us Happy Day!

            Bill Boyd came up this morning.

Doggone, it's good seeing him again.  He's
