<html>                   August - 1918.

Going to beach in town in P.M.
or evening - a poor way to kill
time.  while I have enjoyed
being at such a lovely place
as Biarritz & the good quar-
ters provided by the R.C.  I
am very restless, anxious to
get well & back to work.
Think I have given the
sinus sufficient time to
close if it is going to of its
own accord, so will leave
the 24" for Base Hopital #6
at Bordeaux and see if
can't have something done to
make it close.

Pay this month 998.24 francs.
deducting W.R.I $8.20
Mileage from Chateauroux 114. - Fr.
Two letters from Ditty on 23"
dated June. 22, 23.

(Mass. Gen) but only run short way to
where had to change then found no
cars running after 8 P.M. so had to
hunt up a cab.  finally found a
drunken one & after a wild ride with
beaucoup yelling & whipping of the
poor old horse by the cabby, arrived
safely & was assigned ward.
Saw Dr. next A.M. but could get no
satisfactory exam. till next week.
No X-Ray only daily dressings -
& still quite sore & unable to move
about much.  Moved over to officers
barracks 4 " day, walking to main
buildings for chow.
Was surprised on Sept. 6" to see
my name posted to go[...] so
being tired of hoispital [...ing?]
I could take
