K's salad-dressing.
               
                                 July - 1918
1-7. As wound no better I 
asked for transfer to Biarritz
where could receive just as good
attention as at Chateauroux &
under much more pleasant
surroundings.  As a hospital #9
is a farce, no system whatever.
ordersfinally fixed up, so
left in company with Lt. Slade
& Capt. Shuddemagen, on Jly. 3
for Biarritz  going via Paris,
arriving there about 6 P.M.  I
with a good dose of Influenza
but kept going.  Stopped at small
hotel in old student quarter
& saw as much of the interesting
part of the city as was open to
the public.  Early next A.M.
began our tour & visited many 
places.  Luxemburg Gardens,
Louve, Kings Palace, Queens
Palace. army Museum Opera
[...?] Champs Elysee,Eifel
Tower, bridges over Seine.
Place des Invalides, +c To see
a musical comedy night of 3"
The 4" was a big day. US
flags flying everywhere & a
parade of about 5000 Amer.
troops with other Allies.  Magnif-
icdnt spectacle.
Left the night of 4th arriving
Bordeaux next A.M. where we
apent 8 hrs. seeing the city.
