Saturday 7th

Wind SW cloudy & rained a little in m.g. Mauled Rails
Cut & Hauled wood. I went to Ct House. Saw there Genl
WH Fitzhugh Lees Brigade of Cavalry. they had been to Gloster pt
the night before but saw nothing of the Enemy.

Sunday 8

Wind SW Cloudy & rained a little in mg. We staid at home.

Monday 9

Wind W Cloudy in mg Clear and Mild afterwards
Making fence & Bar Posts. Mr Selden & Lizzie here
in m.g. Old Capt Hopkins left for home at night

Tuesday 10

Wind NE Snowed & hailed in mg & Rained the balance
of the day and night. Hands could do nothing

Wednesday 11

Wind NW. cloudy & cold & Rained & snowed till 10 oclk clear
after 12 o,clk Got wood Hauled Rails. I went to Ct House

Thursday 12

Wind NW. Clear in mg Cloudy afterwards & snowed fr-
-quently during the day. Hauling Rails. Making fence
Maria & the children went to Belle Farm in the Boat.

Friday 13

Wind NW alternately clear & cloudy. Made fence
It snowed very hard about 1 o,clk. Mr Phillips & Mr Patrick
returned from York county. Mr Selden here in mg.
Richard came home from school. Little Montague
came home with him.
