Saturday 1st
Wind NE Mg NW Ev.g Rained all last night and
until 1 o,clk To,day. Gog some wood in Ev.g.

Sunday 2
Wind N. Clear. I staid at home. Maria carried
the children to Wilson’s Creek. left them there and
went on to Belle Farm to see Mrs Taylor who is sick

Monday 3
Wind E & NE. snowed until about 1 o,clk Rained the
balance of the day. Got a little Wood in m.g
I lost a very fine Hog with some desease of its throat. I fear
it may be contagious and others will get it Mary had a Male child ['Mary...child' underscored]

Tuesday 4
Wind N clear after early m.g. Mauled Rails. Got wood.
It is so wet I cant do any thing on the Farm.
Maria & the children returned at night. Farly Taylor
is very sick. Dr Cary is sick. Dr Phil Taliaferro is with her

Wednesday 5
Wind W & SW. alternately clear & cloudy. Made Fence
Hauled out & scattered stable manure on 16 acre lot

Thursday 6
Wind N E. Rained all day. Shelled Corn to send to Mill
It is so wet & the land is so soft I cant cart or do any
thing on the Farm

Friday 7
Wind E & NE clear. Mauled Rails. Repaired Bridges. Got Wood
Scattered Manure
I rode to Mr Bryan’s in mg to see a Mr Posey & Mr McGuire
of Louisianna Battalion who are there.
