Monday 27th
Wind W & N W Cloudy & Raw. Mauled Rails.
Hauled Wood in Wagon. Raked & hauled Wood’s
litter. Betsy & child went to Capt Marshalls
to whom I hired her. I went to Gloster Point
Sent A Hog there which I killed a week ago & had
partially salted, sold it for 15c per lb to the Commissary

Tuesday 28
Wind S & SE. Cloudy. Mauled Rails. Hauled wood in Wagon
Raked & Hauled woods litter in Two Ox Carts.

Wednesday 29
Wind SW. Clear warm & beautiful. Mauling Rails. Hauling
Rails to repair fences. Raking & hauling Woods litter
Sent Ben to Stubbs’s Mill after Flour from .5 Bushels wheat sent
there to grind about Ten days since. Mr Hogg at home sick.
Maria went to Mr Bryans & Mr Selden’s in m.g.

Thursday 30
Wind NE. Cloudy & Rained nearly all day. The hands
did very little of any thing. Got a little wood. Hauled
some woods litter to Farm Pen. Mr Curtis’s children came
from Sister Ann’s here.

Friday 31
Wind SE. Clear after m.g. Mauled & Hauled Rails. Hauled & Raked
Wood’s litter. Maria went to Belle Farm. Mrs Taylor has a
little girl & is quite sick. The Blockading steamer in Mobjack Bay
within about three miles of me. She Fired three guns this m.g.
