to state simply to him that I wish to get
possession of my clothing and to request
permission to send my trunks by Monty to
Gloucester to me. If Col: C_ is no longer
there, she must manage the matter in
the most advisable way, but to Gloucester
the things must be sent, if possible. Two
trunks and a bonnet box, and not to forget
my cloak. My plan is this - for Monty
to go over to Cappahosic with the trunks
and to deliver them to Capt: [Staling?]
who lives there, with a request that he
will take charge of them until I send
for them, and also take good care of
the keys. Monty can return immedi
=ately, and can attend to the whole
matter in one day as well as in a

year. Mr. Blain can give him the

clothing for Tom might be sent at the
same time. Tell Mother to send me
some of that yellow paper of mine, if none
is in the trunk she will find it in the
drawer of the book case in the front passage.
