NOVEMBER 2
The week ended in the same
stagnantly uncertain manner, but
the evening brought a spark of
pleasant fun, when Glory and I
went to the Strand to see “Confidential
Agent,” a floperoo with Charles
Boyer and Lauren Bacall; enlivened
by the stage show with Vaughn
Monroe and his Orchestra.
Afterwards we had a Chinese
supper and then came home.
A year ago tonight I came
into Penn Station from Billsburg
to start in on that terrific
furlough of Bill’s. Wonderful
memory stuff!
