OCTOBER 27
The weather was beautiful ---
ideal football weather: and so
Lou and I bundled up in 3-
piece suits, topped off with big
white chrysanthenums and went up
to Baker Field to see the Columbia-
Brown game. Our seats were wonder-
ful, and we got right into the
football spirit. The game was a
pushover for Columbia (27-6
was the final score) but we loved
it good anyhoo.
We got a touch of the gala Navy
Day spirit too as 1200 airplanes
soared over the city and a
1029-gun salute was fired to
Pres. Truman. Very impressive!
