AUGUST 4
All afternoon I felt like somebody’s
maiden Aunt Maggie as the younger
married set stopped in for social calls
First, Jean Lynch came with her 17-
months old son, Jackie, who is a dar-
ling (I still want a blond baby!) –
and then Lou and Bill dropped in,
looking happier together than I’ve ever
seen a couple: - My blessings go to
them freely!
Mother and I went to the hospital
to find Dad quite jittery again –
a bite to eat in the Fountain Room –
and then into Jamaica to Wanda’s
to play bridge with her Irene and
Camilla – and talk awhile. A
real pleasant evening: but I’m so
tired!
